Spanish Sonnet LA ++ Pedigree      Show Results Due to his dam getting hold of some endofite infected fescue grass at the boarding facility, he still needed more development time and was lovingly referred to as the “ugly duckling”. A change in boarding locations and making sure he had the time and nutrients necessary for proper growth changed him into the beautiful “swan” that he is today. He continued growing and getting nicer and nicer with each passing day. Finally at the age of 2 it was time for him to get a “career”. At Region 15 in 2005, Larry Jones entered the ring Spanish Sonnet L.A. (also known as Sonny). It was the first time Spanish Sonnet L.A. had seen or entered a show ring. The class was Arabian Two-Year Old Gelding Regional Sweepstakes. They were named the unanimous champion. Spanish Sonnet L.A., while with Rob Simpson, in 2005 also earned the titles of East Coast Reserve Champion Gelding and 2005 US National Top Ten Sport Horse Two-Year Old Gelding In-Hand Jackpot. Sonny spent the next year again with Rob Simpson and that team earned several halter championships. They finished 2006 at the East Coast Championship show and left with the title of East Coast Top Five Gelding, placing 3rd on the judges’ cards. At the age of 4, it was time for Spanish Sonnet L.A. to start under saddle and he again teamed up with Larry Jones. During 2007 the team of Spanish Sonnet L.A. and Larry Jones earned several championships in the Sport Horse arena. As 2008 started, Spanish Sonnet L.A. (now 5) returned to Larry Jones to continue his “show career”. Dressage was added to his full time list of accomplishments. He did it well, as with everything else he tried. Spanish Sonnet L.A. earned his Legion of Merit Achievement Title in under two years of showing.
