We are a small family farm, not a breeding business. We only breed occasionally, mainly when we have room for another Arabian member of our family. On rare occasions we may breed one of our mares for a “sale” foal. Our motto is “Home of Show Champions and Blue Ribbon Companions”.
When we do breed, it is for the old style family Arabian. One a Bedouin would have kept in his tent. A horse that would be enjoyable to watch grazing or playing in the field, able to take on trail rides, is correct in the Halter ring, and competitive in the performance ring. We find many of these features in the current Arabian Sport Horse. When we do compete, our horses are mainly in the Sport Horse discipline and usually successful.
A sweet disposition and a brain are essential in a family horse. It is not unusual for our Arabians to give “kisses” or be used for a beginner to learn how to ride. We believe in gently but firmly handling our foals from day 1, so they enjoy and respect people.
The trainers we use for our Arabian “children” share the same philosophy about handling horses. Patience and understanding are paramount. We have found that in Larry Jones of Jonesborough Farm in Culpeper, VA and Rob Simpson of Simpson Equine Management in Amissville, VA to share that philosophy.
